What to Expect

I believe we are worthy and deserve dignity, safety and belonging. As a provider I work with clients to look at sex therapy through a holistic and multidimensional approach. I want to work to ensure that not only you are seen as an individual but that all of your experiences are informing your present. I approach therapy through the lenses of systemic Liberation Psychology, Queer Theory, and Feminist Theory. I endeavor to do my best to do anti-oppression work that is trauma aware. A high priority for me is offering a welcoming space where you are supported in being your authentic self. When working together you will find that I practice and hold harm reduction as a therapeutic tool. I am a health at every size practitioner, which means that I will never recommend weight loss as a potential fix to distress. A person’s body size is not automatically an indicator of health, and so long as you are enjoying your body, I am here for it! I am sex positive, kink knowledgeable, affirming of consensual non-monogamy (polyamory, swinging, relationship anarchy, open relationships, etc.), and sex worker friendly. I am neuro-inclusive and see both professional assessment and self assessment as having value. I have a focus on LGBTGEQIAP+ populations and those who love us. In addition to this I also offer an affirming approach with non-religious and/or atheist individuals, as well as those who are part of marginalized religions and/or belief systems.

I strive to create a relationship in session where each client feels safe enough to explore vulnerability, is challenging enough to support growth, and rooted in the belief that a client’s uniqueness is inherently valuable. People deserve to be seen, heard, and deeply known. This is how I view the world, and how I approach sessions with those seeking to explore themselves and their relationship with others.

My practice is holistic, relational, integrative, and individualized. I view therapy through the bio-psycho-social model, and am especially interested in the mind-body connection. Because of this I often utilize embodiment exercises and work with polyvagal theory, and other somatic therapies. For trauma work I am currently in EMDR therapy training, which is an option for those who wish to use that approach. My approach is conversational, relational, and can sometimes be directive when that is right for the individual client. As an autistic therapist I can be rather blunt and to the point, but always coming from a place of kindness and compassion, which is something that many clients enjoy about me. While I have education and training, I respect that you are the expert of your own experience and I do my best to create a space where you feel supported in your own individual journey.

During my master’s internship I worked primarily with transgender individuals, those who have been marginalized due to being part of the LGBTGEQIAP+ populations, and those who experienced trauma.

I am always learning and growing and do my best to remain humble. I want my clients to feel comfortable coming to me with feedback. This is a collaborative process, and I want to make sure that you feel seen and heard. Client feedback helps me to continue to grow as a practitioner and a community member.

In short I believe that every person deserves to enjoy a life free from shame and access to what brings them joy and safety and if that is what you are looking for click the button below to schedule a free 20 minute consultation with me.
